Before you came to The Oaks, you were tired of all the work that came from trying to maintain your home and yard. Life was both exhausting and a little lonely, now that your children are grown. It’s so nice to feel settled and safe, with all your friends and staff members that treat you like family.

Now, it’s time for breakfast! Your full-size refrigerator and freezer hold snacks and treats, but you want to get down to the bright, sunny dining room to see what Chef David is cooking up today. After a delicious breakfast full of laughter with all your friends, you’ll head over to your daily stretch and fitness class at the in-house gym.

The rest of the day is yours to spend however you’d like to spend it. Forget chores and housework, cooking and cleaning. You can go to one of a dozen fun activities happening every day! The High Adventure Club takes outings seriously–that steamboat cruise was pretty incredible. There are plenty of local outings to places like shopping centers, restaurants, the casino, and the library. Today, you might take it a little slower and play card games with friends in the lobby. There’s always someone around who wants to chat and play a game (or three)!
Lunch, Happy Hour, and Dinner
After lunch, you’ll hang out on the patio and enjoy the warm Arizona weather. It’s Tuesday, so there will be a fun Happy Hour with live entertainment this afternoon. You’re looking forward to dinner in the dining room–it’s burger night, which is always a hit. David is great at making familiar comfort food that gives you that warm, homey feeling. He even does monthly Food for Thought meetings where you can give feedback on what meals you enjoyed and what you’d like to try. You’re planning to ask him to get out the wood-fired pizza oven so you can make personal pizzas again!
The day comes to a close back in your comfy, open-plan apartment. The moment you walked into The Oaks, the staff and residents welcomed you like family. That’s a feeling you continue to feel every single day. You’ve had a great time with friends today, really able to relax and enjoy everything life has to offer you.

The Memory Care wing of The Oaks is separate to provide additional security and supervision to ensure your safety. But even there, you’ll have the same warm, homey atmosphere, spacious private apartments, great food, and all your best friends. You won’t have to give up hanging out with your favorite people every single day, even if your health and needs change.
