Healing and hope.

When skilled care is suddenly needed, families often brace themselves for somewhere that feels cold and institutional. At Springs Village Care Center, you don’t have to. Care is every bit as skilled as it is warm and welcoming.

What sets us apart is our full team. Many of us have worked here for years and choose to stay because of the culture. With beautiful outdoor space, homestyle dining, entertaining activities, and therapy seven days a week, you can feel right at home as you heal.

Comprehensive Care

We want our community members to feel as well as they can for as long as they can, so we take on the role of expert implementers.

Your physician lays out the goals, and we offer moment-by-moment support to help you reach them.

Compassionate Team

It’s one thing to check tasks off a list, but it’s something else entirely to see our community members as people to show up for time and time again.

Our team is known not only for their exceptional skills and experience but also for their heart-led service.

Comfortable Environment

We reject the idea that great skilled care and rehab have to be delivered in a cold, uninviting environment.

Instead, this community is designed with warmth, making it a place where those residing here, their loved ones, and their care teams want to be.

Take a look around.

There’s so much to love
about Springs Village.

Set just behind Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, we keep families close to trusted medical care while offering a calmer, more homelike place to land.

Inviting Accommodations

Your space is yours to make your own. Personal touches are welcome—your own comforter, family photos, plants—and everyone arrives to a welcome basket and introductions from the directors who’ll be looking after you.

  • Private and semi-private rooms
  • Individually controlled heating and air conditioning
  • Bedside call light system, with a team quick to answer
  • Housekeeping and linen service
  • Cable television and guest Wi-Fi

Home-Like Dining

Good food matters, especially when you’re healing. Our kitchen serves three fresh meals a day, with an always-available menu so you can eat what actually sounds good.

  • Three chef-prepared meals served daily
  • Always-available and seasonal menus
  • Registered dietitian overseeing nutrition
  • Generous, flexible portions
  • Dietary aide who checks in daily for your preferences
  • Family welcome to bring favorite dishes from home
  • Open seating in the dining room for a meal and good company

My mom has been to Springs Village twice in the last couple of years. Each time was amazing. She is a bit quirky and can be a little tough to work with, but Springs Village didn’t miss a beat! They were all compassionate and embraced her. She received great care from all of the staff, including dietary, laundry, therapy, nursing, maintenance, housekeeping, insurance coordinator, etc. All took time to stop in and talk with her and treat her like a person, not just another bed. Thank you.

Close-Knit Community

Our life enrichment team keeps something happening every day, weekends included, with plenty of ways to get outside and stay connected.

  • Daily activities—bingo, arts and crafts, and seasonal projects
  • Live music, from piano soloists to local bands
  • Movie nights and a second-floor library
  • Enrichment cart that brings activities to those staying in their room
  • Group outings: shopping, scenic drives, and fall trips to Cripple Creek
  • Enclosed patio and courtyard with a gazebo
  • Barbecues on the patio when the weather’s warm
  • Walking trail alongside the community
  • Beauty salon and barber shop on site
  • Shuttle and private transportation available

Following back surgery, this was my first time in a rehab facility. I never expected such a caring, kind, and professional staff. They understood when I had pain, and helped to resolve it, through medication and/or physical therapy. I felt prepared when it was time to leave. There are not enough superlatives to say about the employees – nurses, CNA’s, physical and occupational therapists, cleaning staff, cooks and dietary personnel and other ancillary staff. I wholeheartedly recommend Springs Village Care Center.

Highly Personalized Support

Care here starts with the person, not the diagnosis. Your input matters, and the team takes the time to know you—so support fits where you are and how you want to be cared for, backed by round-the-clock skilled nursing.

  • Short-Term Rehabilitation—therapy-focused care to help you recover and get home, with physical, occupational, and speech therapy 7 days a week
  • Longer-Term Care—ongoing, around-the-clock care for those who need it
  • Respite Care—short stays that give family caregivers a break, with up to 30 days a year covered by Medicaid (weekends available)

Springs Village is Medicaid-contracted, and our team can walk you through coverage and options.

You might still be wondering…

K
L

Can we afford Springs Village?

For many families, the answer is yes—and our team will help you understand how. Springs Village is Medicaid-contracted, and we work with Medicare and a range of insurance plans, depending on your situation and the kind of care you need.

Paying for care can feel overwhelming, especially when decisions are happening fast. Reach out, and we'll walk you through your options in plain language, so you know exactly where you stand.

K
L

What kind of care do you provide?

We provide three kinds of care: short-term rehabilitation for people recovering from surgery, illness, or a hospital stay; long-term care for those who need ongoing daily support; and respite care, which gives family caregivers a short break. Whether the stay is for a couple of weeks or much longer, our team and therapy services are here seven days a week. If you're not sure which fits your situation, we're glad to talk it through.

K
L

Do you offer memory care?

No, we don't offer memory care. If your loved one is living with Alzheimer's or dementia and needs specialized memory support, we're happy to point you toward communities that provide it, including others in the Stellar Living Network. Our focus is skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and long-term care.

K
L

Will I have a private room?

While we do have some private rooms, most of our rooms are semi-private, which means one roommate, never more. Longer-term Medicaid support covers semi-private rooms.

K
L

Will it feel like a hospital?

We hear this often, and we understand why—skilled care can call up images of long, clinical hallways. What people notice walking in Springs Village is the warmth: a bright, open activity room near the entrance, a garden and patio out back, and a team that smiles and knows one another. Most families tell us it feels calmer and more cared-for than they expected.

K
L

Are you short-staffed, like so many places?

It's the question families ask most, because short-staffing is so common in this field. Here, it isn't the norm. Our team is full and steady, and many have worked here for years. That consistency shows up in the everyday: familiar faces, quick answers to call lights, and staff across every role who pitch in when someone needs help.

K
L

Does therapy really run seven days a week?

Yes. Many families assume rehab pauses on weekends and picks back up on Monday, but ours doesn't. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy are available seven days a week, so progress doesn't stall just because it's Saturday. Your physician sets the goals, and our team works with you daily to reach them.

K
L

How's the food?

Better than most people expect. A registered dietitian oversees the menu, and we serve three chef-prepared meals a day plus an always-available option, so there's always something you can order. Portions are generous, the kitchen is happy to accommodate preferences, and a dietary aide checks in daily to see what sounds good. Families are welcome to bring their favorite from home, too.

K
L

What helps new arrivals feel at home?

Moving in can feel like a big adjustment, so we try to make the first days easier. Everyone arrives to a welcome basket, and you're encouraged to bring your own comforter, photos, and a few plants to make the room yours. Our directors stop by to introduce themselves and let you know who to come to for anything you need. From the start, the goal is for you to feel known, not processed.

K
L

Can family stay involved?

Absolutely—family is part of daily life here. Loved ones join us for patio barbecues, bring in favorite meals, and take walks together along the trail beside the community. Our doors are open, and the team keeps you in the loop. We see ourselves as caring for your whole family, not just the person who lives here.

K
L

How quickly can someone move in?

Often quickly—we know these decisions usually come fast, frequently straight from a hospital. Availability changes day to day, and rooms generally go on a first-come, first-served basis once the paperwork is in, so it's worth reaching out early, even as you're still deciding. Our Family Advisor can talk you through what's open and what the next steps look like, whether you call, visit, or have us meet you at the hospital.

K
L

What makes Springs Village different from other communities nearby?

Families who tour a few places often tell us the difference is how calm and coordinated it feels. At some communities, they describe walking in and not knowing who to talk to; here, anyone on our team will stop to help or show you around. Add strong quality ratings, a clean and well-kept building, and a location right behind Penrose Hospital, and it adds up to a place families trust. The best way to feel it is to come see for yourself.

The care is full circle here.

The Stellar Living Foundation was created to make generosity a shared experience. Community members, team members, community partners, leadership, and owners all contribute to the circle of care. Whether it’s supporting a staff member through a crisis, helping a community member's grandchild go to college, or giving back to local organizations, the Foundation is how we lift each other up.
