You might still be wondering…
Can we afford Courtyard at Jamestown Independent & Assisted Living?
How do community members get around outside the community?
Getting around is simple and flexible. Many of our independent community members still drive and keep their own cars here, with convenient on-site parking available. For those who prefer not to drive, Courtyard at Jamestown offers scheduled transportation for medical appointments, errands, and group outings. Our shuttle regularly takes community members to theaters, museums, and special seasonal events, and we’re happy to help arrange private transportation for personal appointments as well.
How’s the food?
Exceptional. In fact, some people move here because of the food. Our Executive Chef, Chester, has led the kitchen for more than 21 years—a rare legacy in senior living. Before joining Courtyard at Jamestown, he honed his craft in hotel hospitality, even working under Julia Child, and he brings that same artistry and precision to every meal.
Each day, Chef Chester and his 40-person culinary team serve two seasonal entrées at both lunch and dinner, along with an “always available” menu of classics like made-to-order eggs, deli sandwiches, burgers, and fresh salads. Menus rotate quarterly and are shaped by community feedback, ensuring there’s always something new to enjoy. From the warm bread service and homemade soups to holiday buffets with hand-carved ice sculptures, dining here feels like a fine restaurant experience—just with friends who feel like family.
What kinds of activities and events do you offer?
There’s something for everyone here. With 40–50 events each week, our calendar includes everything from exercise classes and live performances to lectures, creative workshops, and social gatherings. You might find yourself attending a string quartet concert one afternoon, then a professor-led art history talk or cooking demonstration the next.
Our community also values purpose and contribution—many neighbors share their talents by teaching classes or leading discussions. It’s not uncommon to hear about a former cartoonist hosting a drawing workshop or a retired geologist giving a fascinating presentation.
What’s special about the apartments?
Our apartments are as unique as the people who live in them. Courtyard at Jamestown features more than 55 different floor plans—from cozy studios to spacious two-bedroom homes. Many offer charming dormer windows, vaulted ceilings, and views of the pond or mountain landscape.
Each apartment includes a kitchenette with a ¾-size refrigerator and microwave, individual climate control, and a safety-designed bathroom. Newly remodeled homes in our east wing include islands, pantries, and in-unit washers and dryers, while the rest of the community offers convenient communal laundry areas and weekly housekeeping.
Is it quiet and safe?
Yes—and that’s one of the things people love most about us. Courtyard at Jamestown sits just off the main road in Provo, tucked among trees and gardens. It won't be traffic you notice here—only the sound of birds, ducks, and sometimes even deer wandering near the creek. The community’s design offers both beauty and peace of mind, with walking paths, secured entrances, and caring staff available around the clock.
How does Courtyard at Jamestown support independence as needs change?
We’re designed for peace of mind at every stage. Many people move in while fully independent, knowing they can stay right here as their needs evolve. Our independent and assisted living apartments are part of the same warm, connected community, and our Enhanced Memory Care area offers specialized support in a familiar environment.
Each person receives an emergency response pendant and access to on-call care 24 hours a day. That means you can enjoy your independence now—and know you’re already in the right place for whatever comes next.
What do people do for fun around the community?
Joy shows up here in big and little ways. Mornings often start with a friendly exercise class and coffee meet-ups by the grand staircase. By midday you might hear a string quartet warming up or step into a neighbor-led art history talk that draws a full room. There are hands-on cooking demos in the activity kitchen, cartooning classes taught by a longtime artist, and a therapy dog visit that reliably turns into a photo op.
On nice days, friends swap tomatoes from the garden boxes, putt a few balls on the green, or walk the quarter-mile path (bird feeders and deer sightings included). And when Chef Chester rolls out a holiday ice-carving in the courtyard, everyone bundles up to watch—the laughter, applause, and selfies say it all.
Every day offers something genuinely fun, whether you’re learning, creating, or simply sharing the moment with good friends.
What makes Courtyard at Jamestown different from other assisted living communities in Provo?
Our senior and assisted living community in Provo combines old-world charm with vibrant living. The elegant design—complete with a grand staircase, walnut accents, and a two-story library—feels timeless, not trendy. The dining program, led by Chef Chester, is known throughout Utah County. And our social and intellectual life rivals that of a small university, with professors, artists, musicians, and writers sharing their gifts every week.
Add to that our peaceful location, caring long-tenured team, and the genuine warmth that fills the building, and you’ll understand why so many people describe it as “a cruise ship without the water.”
What is Memory Care like?
Our Enhanced Memory Care, part of Stellar Senior Living’s signature Apollo Program, is built on one simple belief: cognitive decline changes life, but it doesn’t have to diminish it. We tailor care to each individual—their history, their passions, their rhythms—so that every day still holds meaning and joy.
At Courtyard at Jamestown, that means neighbors enjoy kitchenettes in their private suites for a familiar, home-like feel, and small-group or one-on-one engagement that reflects who they are. We’ve had art teachers who still sketch, musicians who lead sing-alongs, and veterans who help plan our annual tribute ceremony. Our team members know each community member personally and find creative ways to help them thrive—whether it’s a quiet walk outside, a favorite hymn, or a spontaneous conversation that sparks a smile.
Families also stay closely connected through education, communication, and support, so you never have to wonder how your loved one is doing—you’ll see it in their joy.
The care is full circle here.
The Stellar Living Foundation was created to make generosity a shared experience. Community members, team members, community partners, leadership, and owners all contribute to the circle of care. Whether it’s supporting a staff member through a crisis, helping a community member's grandchild go to college, or giving back to local organizations, the Foundation is how we lift each other up.
Hi there! I’m Evrett Benton, President & CEO of Stellar Living.
It’s why we’ve worked so hard to build communities where retired adults can enjoy a first-class life and adult children can rest assured that their parents are safe, happy, and involved in their lives, without having to trade being a child for a caregiver.
We look forward to meeting you!
