Welcome Home: Orchard Park of Kyle
Like any home with character, our building here at Orchard Park of Kyle has history. We originally began in 2013 as the first assisted living community in Kyle. But we’re not afraid to make changes to provide the very best care, and in service of that, we recently transitioned to management under Stellar Living in 2024. What’s great about Orchard Park has stayed consistent, and we’ve made changes where we could improve.
We are proud to report our building and location definitely qualify as great! We have big, beautiful courtyards, calming and updated modern decor, and a homey, family-oriented environment. And it smells fantastic! But unlike the feel of a fancy hotel, you can be comfortable here, you can be yourself. This is your home, so of course your family is welcome too. In fact, one of our resident’s grandchildren even homeschools her kids right here in our community. Stay for lunch, and you might hear these kids play the piano for you.
Our location is also hard to beat. We’re just 25 minutes from Austin, right on the FM 1626 road. This provides you easy access to big-city medicine, shopping, and entertainment. But, you’ll experience a quiet, secluded feel here in small-town Kyle, so you get the best of both worlds! Our community is also right along a golf course, near walking trails, shopping and entertainment. It’s close to Kyle’s main hospital, and a new hospital is being built even closer. There are lots of hotels close by for visiting family members, and this growing area just keeps getting better and better.
Beautiful Apartments with a Variety of Floor Plans
We know your needs are unique, so we have a variety of apartment floor plans available. All have been beautifully decorated and remodeled. You can choose from studio, 1- and 2-bedroom options. We have a standard studio without a kitchenette as our most budget-friendly option. Our studio deluxes and all other apartments have kitchenettes with microwaves and full-size refrigerators. Almost all of our 2-bedroom apartments have beautiful courtyard views, some with direct courtyard access. Of course, you’ll have a private bathroom and individually controlled heating and air in every apartment, too. Weekly housekeeping, linen, and laundry services are also included with each apartment.
Seasoned Staff Who Truly Care
Our staff make this house a home. We have seasoned caregivers who have been here more than a decade, some who have been on staff since the day this community opened. That kind of longevity tells you these are people who are passionate about their jobs. They love your senior like their own family. Our low turnover is particularly helpful for our Memory Care residents. They’ll see the same faces on the same shifts every day, which helps their day feel safe and predictable. Come here, and everyone really does know your name.
Executive Director Kim McFall has worked in senior living for 34 years, and she’s been at Orchard Park for the last 3 years. As she puts it, “all we know is senior living, and we love it.” Family Advisor Tina Beskow lives right here in Kyle with her daughter, and she says it really does feel like a small town. Everybody knows everybody, in the best way. Tina also has a degree in communications, and she knows how important communication with families is. She even hosts every-other-month open-door family meetings to communicate changes and get feedback.

Aging in Place…In Style
Aging in place is the preferred option for many seniors. Moving is a young man’s game. There’s nothing fun about coordinating movers, moving trucks, paying move-in and move-out fees, having to make new friends, going through your needs and care plan over and over again with new people, transferring medical records, etc. You want a community that can meet your needs in the long term, where you won’t have to move if you have an illness or injury and need more help.
We offer a “level 0” enhanced independent living option, for seniors who want three meals a day, housekeeping, and 24/7 staff on hand, but don’t need any additional help right now. Our independent living residents love this option because you can maintain as much independence as you want, but you no longer have to cook, clean, do laundry, or mow the lawn!
You can also easily and seamlessly transition to a little more care with assisted living, if you ever need help with activities of daily life. Assisted living will give you daily help with things like getting in and out of bed, walking, getting to the bathroom, bathing or showering, or managing your medications. The transition to Memory Care is equally seamless, with no interruption in care.
Meaningful Memory Care
Did you know 1 in 10 Americans over the age of 65 are likely to develop dementia? It’s a diagnosis no one wants, but fortunately, Orchard Park also has a top-quality Memory Care program. At Orchard Park, even dementia won’t get you down! We have 40 private Memory Care-specific apartments available that are just as nice (and smell just as great!) as the rest of our apartments. Our Memory Care program offers increased care and supervision to meet the needs of seniors with dementia. We also have music therapy, aromatherapy, and other types of therapies specific to helping with memory loss. We prioritize a consistent schedule with consistent staff members. This helps residents feel safe, and our community feel like home.
We know you or your loved one with dementia is a whole person, not a diagnosis. That’s why we provide meaningful activities everyday, not coloring pages. Our Memory Care residents still go on regular outings with our assisted living residents. They spend time with everyone else in the community and develop friendships regardless of diagnosis or level of care. We offer tons of activities every day, even more for our Memory Care residents than our assisted and independent living residents. This helps community members with memory loss stay busy, active, and happy, not alone in their rooms. We also have plenty of safe, secure spaces to walk and wander, inside and out.
Cruise-Style Activities
People often tell us our activities are like a “cruise on land.” Like a luxury cruise ship, we have an extensive calendar of daily activities that our residents can pick and choose from at their leisure. This includes weekly outings (with included transportation!) to museums, libraries, and shopping trips. We hold regular meetings with residents so they can tell us what they want to do, and we make it happen.
We also have lots of special-interest small groups so you can find your people. Our large population of Veterans get together for meals every day and share memories and experiences. We have a bunko group, women’s coffee hour, and more. We like our community to feel like a community, so local groups often come in too, like the local Boy Scout troop and the Kyle Senior Center. Our staff gets to know each resident and takes into account their history, likes/dislikes, and hobbies when planning activities and events.
Speaking of events…once a month, we have a big event where we go all out. Everyone is invited, including families of residents and those in the Kyle area. We celebrate holidays, of course, but we also invent our own holidays! We recently had an Elvis impersonator with dancing lessons, a virtual tour to Japan, Irish dancers with an Ireland theme, and more. Our chef typically prepares signature drinks and/or desserts for our monthly parties. This is the kind of fun we don’t think you’ll find anywhere else!
Of course, everyday life is fun, too. We have daily exercise classes, mobility classes, and an in-house physical therapy group that provides additional exercise classes. Every evening we have a social hour before dinner, with drinks and snacks and visiting. We have religious devotionals, games, dominoes, scrabble, and a library just for fun. Our residents even run their own activities–make sure you don’t miss Beverly’s Karaoke Hour!
Cruise-Style Amenities
The cruise-ship feel (fortunately, without the seasickness) doesn’t end with our activities. We also have resort-style amenities! This includes our library with free-flowing books, often staffed by our own book-loving residents. Our patio and courtyards have beautiful landscaping and great views, with rocking chairs to sit and enjoy. There are lots of common spaces to hang out with friends doing whatever activities you like to do. And, we have lots of freedom to walk and roam, right here in the community.
Other amenities include private transportation services, weekly shuttle bus excursions, our fitness center, a media room for movies, events, and church services, and an in-house beauty salon and barber shop.
Daily All-Day Fine Dining
Our in-house chef provides all-day fine dining from 7:30 am to 6pm, with three freshly prepared meals served daily for all residents. We often have music during meals from the grand piano in our dining room to provide gentle entertainment. Our dining room is like a five-star restaurant, with servers that will bring you your selections. And our phenomenal new chef Jason is beloved by all. Even our staff eats in the dining room every day, so they can attest that the food really is excellent!
Should you get hungry other times of the day, we also have a newly renovated bistro that provides snacks, coffee, and fruit all day long.
