LAKEWOOD, COLORADO
Cedars Healthcare
Center
Skilled Nursing & Rehab
Comprehensive Care
We want our community members to feel as well as they can for as long as they can, so we take on the role of expert implementers.
Your physician lays out the goals, and we offer moment-by-moment support to help you reach them.
Compassionate Team
It’s one thing to check tasks off a list, but it’s something else entirely to see our community members as people to show up for time and time again.
Our team is known not only for their exceptional skills and experience but also for their heart-led service.
Comfortable Environment
We reject the idea that great skilled care and rehab have to be delivered in a cold, uninviting environment.
Instead, this community is designed with warmth, making it a place where those residing here, their loved ones, and their care teams want to be.
Take a look around.
The Cedars staff are absolutely amazing! My loved one has lived at Cedars for about two years now. The staff are compassionate, patient, and kind. They take the time to make each resident feel important, loved, and useful. I believe that they have one of the most difficult jobs that exist, yet they go above and beyond. I highly recommend Cedars Healthcare Center to anyone who needs help in caring for their loved one.
Both my Father and Mother have stayed at Cedars. I really can’t say enough about how wonderful this place has been. Like most things it is the people and not the four walls that make all the difference and the people and culture at Cedars is amazing. I never felt people were just working a job but there was a spirit of genuine compassion from the director down to the kitchen personal. It really felt like family was taking care of my parents

When you're ready, come see the community for yourself—the bright, open spaces, the courtyard with the koi pond, and the team in action. While you're here, we'll continue the conversation about your options.

Take a deep breath.
The hard part is behind you. From here, our team does the heavy lifting. Therapy is available seven days a week, an RN is in the building around the clock, and compassionate daily care makes it feel like home.
You might still be wondering…
Can we afford Cedars Healthcare Center?
For many families, the answer is yes—and our team will help you understand how. Cedars is Medicaid-contracted, and we work with Medicare and a range of insurance plans, depending on your situation and the care you need.
Paying for care can feel overwhelming, especially when decisions are happening fast. Reach out, and we'll walk you through your options in plain language, so you know exactly where you stand.
What kind of care do you provide?
We provide short-term rehabilitation for people recovering from surgery, illness, or a hospital stay; long-term care for those who need ongoing daily support; wound care and respiratory therapy for more complex needs; and respite care, which gives family caregivers a short break—with up to 30 days a year covered by Medicaid. Whether the stay is for a couple of weeks or much longer, our team is here seven days a week. If you're not sure which fits your situation, we're glad to talk it through.
Do you offer memory care?
No. Our focus is skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and long-term care. If your loved one needs specialized memory support, we're happy to point you toward communities that provide it, including others in the Stellar Living Network.
Will I have a private room?
Short-term skilled stays are in private rooms. For longer-term care, rooms are semi-private—one roommate, never more. Every room has a window and its own television, and you're encouraged to bring personal items to make it feel like yours.
Will it feel like a hospital?
We hear this often, and we understand why.
What people notice walking into Cedars is how different it feels—nearly $3 million in renovations have replaced the old institutional look with hardwood floors, fresh paint, and bright open spaces. At the center of the building is a courtyard with a koi pond that people gravitate to right away. Most families tell us it's not at all what they expected.
Are you short-staffed, like so many places?
It's the question families ask most, because short-staffing is so common in this field. Here, it isn't the norm.
Many of our team members have worked at Cedars for 10, 20, even 25 years. That consistency shows up every day: familiar faces, quick answers to call lights, and managers who will stop what they're doing to answer a question from a family member.
Does therapy really run seven days a week?
Therapy is available seven days a week, so progress doesn't stall just because it's Saturday. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy are all on staff. Your physician sets the goals, and our team works with you to reach them—whether your stay is short-term or long.
What makes Cedars different from other communities nearby?
A few things stand out consistently. The building surprises people—it's warm and well-kept in a way that catches visitors off guard. The staff has been here a long time, and it shows in how they interact with the people they care for.
The care itself goes further than most: wound care with certified nurses and a rounding wound doctor, respiratory therapy on site, and a therapy team available every day of the week. The best way to feel the difference is to come see for yourself.
How's the food?
Better than most people expect. Three chef-prepared meals are served daily, and the menu is shaped by a food committee of community members who meet regularly with the dietary team. A registered dietician oversees nutrition, and the kitchen accommodates a wide range of dietary needs—diabetic, cardiac, gluten-free, texture-modified, and more. The monthly barbecue in the courtyard is a fan favorite!
What helps new arrivals feel at home?
We know moving in can feel like a big adjustment. You're encouraged to bring photos, a favorite blanket, and anything that makes the room feel familiar. Our team makes a point of getting to know people—not just their care needs, but who they are—and the same faces show up day after day. That continuity makes a real difference.
How does Medicaid work for long-term care?
Many families haven't had to think about Medicaid until the moment they need it—and then, suddenly, there's a lot to understand. The short version: most long-term skilled nursing care is funded through Medicaid, and qualifying involves meeting both medical and financial criteria. Some people come in on private pay and spend down to Medicaid eligibility over time; others come in already qualified.
It can feel complicated, but you don't have to figure it out alone. Our team does this every day and can walk you through what qualification looks like, what to expect at recertification year after year, and what steps to take now—in plain language, at your pace.
Can family stay involved?
Absolutely—family is part of life here. Loved ones are welcome to visit, and we make a point of including families during the holidays with special meals and celebrations. Our team sees itself as caring for the whole family, not just the person who lives here.
If you have questions about your loved one's care at any time, our managers are accessible and will make time for you.
How quickly can someone move in?
Often quickly—we know these decisions usually come fast, frequently straight from a hospital. Availability changes day to day, so it's worth reaching out early, even as you're still deciding. Our Family Advisor can talk you through what's open and what the next steps look like, whether you call, visit, or have us meet you at the hospital or at home.
The care is full circle here.
The Stellar Living Foundation was created to make generosity a shared experience. Community members, team members, community partners, leadership, and owners all contribute to the circle of care. Whether it’s supporting a staff member through a crisis, helping a community member's grandchild go to college, or giving back to local organizations, the Foundation is how we lift each other up.
