Can we afford Clayton Oaks Assisted Living and Memory Care in Richmond, TX?
Many of our community members are retired professionals—educators, engineers, and veterans—who’ve worked hard to enjoy this next chapter of life. Most find that our monthly rates are comparable to what they already spend maintaining a home once they factor in meals, housekeeping, maintenance, and home care.
How is that possible? Monthly rates at Clayton Oaks cover nearly everything: fresh, chef-prepared meals, housekeeping, activities, transportation, and 24/7 support if needed. And with month-to-month contracts, there’s no long-term commitment or hidden fees.
How’s the food?
Meals at Clayton Oaks are freshly prepared by professional chefs and served restaurant-style in our warm, inviting restaurant. The menus rotate often, offering familiar favorites and seasonal dishes that make each day feel a little different. More than anything, mealtimes are a chance to relax, visit, and connect—neighbors linger over dessert, swap stories, and laugh together. And for those in between moments, the café is always open for coffee and conversation.
What kinds of activities are offered?
The calendar is packed—40 to 50 activities each week. There’s the popular Drama Club, where neighbors recently put on a standing-room-only show, and the Gardening Club that meets by the patio. Morning Wellness Workouts, happy hours, and trivia nights keep the days full and fun. Whether it’s pickleball outside or a quiet card game indoors, there’s always something happening and someone to enjoy it with.
Is the building easy to navigate?
Yes. Clayton Oaks is completely one story, so there are no elevators or long hallways to navigate. The layout is open and filled with natural light, making it easy to move around and feel connected to what’s going on throughout the day.
What makes your Memory Care different?
Our Memory Care program is built around relationships, dignity, and purpose. The approach—developed in partnership with Rice University—combines personalized routines, music, movement, and cognitive engagement to help each person thrive. All suites are private, and the care team focuses on what brings comfort and joy to each individual, every day.
Do apartments feel like home or more like a facility?
They truly feel like home. The Assisted Living apartments have high ceilings, built-in café tables, and full-size kitchens with refrigerators, microwaves, and dishwashers. Some even include patios for fresh air and quiet mornings. Memory Care studios are private, easy to navigate, and thoughtfully designed with safety and comfort in mind.
Can family visit or join events?
Absolutely. Families are always welcome for meals, performances, and special events. Many join us for themed dinners, outdoor concerts, or Drama Club nights in the theater. The patio and lounge areas are favorite gathering spots—especially during pickleball games, when adult children take the court and parents cheer them on or join in! It’s one of many ways families stay connected and feel right at home here.
