You might still be wondering…
Can I afford Park Lane Senior Living in Salt Lake City?
Most of our community members come from modest backgrounds, and many find that their retirement funds and social security benefits cover the cost of living here. In fact, our monthly rates are comparable to what many retirees spend maintaining their own homes—without the stress of upkeep, rising utility costs, or unexpected repairs.
How do people get around outside the community?
Many of our community members still love to drive. For those who prefer to leave the car behind, Park Lane offers something most places don’t: a dedicated driver. Personal transportation is included in your monthly rate, with scheduled rides to appointments, errands, shopping, and more—up to 10 miles per trip.
Medical transportation is available five days a week, and personal outings three days a week. Whether you’re heading to the hair salon, the specialty store, or the bank, our concierge team and trusted driver make it easy to get there. And with downtown Salt Lake and the University of Utah just minutes away, everything you need is close to home.
How’s the food?
The food is one of the first things people rave about—and it’s not just good, it might give your favorite restaurant a run for its money. The dining room is open from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., offering full table service, made-from-scratch meals, and a rotating menu that might feature anything from chicken curry to rack of lamb. There’s always fresh soup, salad bar, and a full alternative menu you can order from anytime.
The bistro stays stocked 24/7 with coffee, pastries, popcorn, and fresh fruit—perfect for a midday chat or late-night snack. Our chef meets monthly with community members to get their input (and sometimes recipes), so the menu reflects what people actually want to eat. Guests can join you for just $10, which makes dinner with friends or family an easy yes. One neighbor said it best: “It’s like hosting without the cleanup.”
Can I bring in help if my needs change?
Yes. Park Lane is a fully independent living community—but if your needs change down the road, that doesn’t mean you have to start over. Many neighbors choose to bring in trusted outside support, like a private caregiver, visiting nurse, or home health service, so they can keep living in the place they love, surrounded by the people and routines that make it feel like home.
What kinds of people live here?
Park Lane draws people with rich stories and full lives—professors, business owners, artists, veterans, and those who’ve spent decades serving their communities in big and quiet ways. Some are still working or consulting, while others are retired but just as active as ever. Many have moved from out of state to be closer to family or have come back to Salt Lake after years away, ready to reconnect with the city they love.
What they all have in common is a desire for something more—a place to belong, people to share it with, and a lifestyle that feels both engaging and easy. You’ll find neighbors who stock up on your dog’s favorite treat, save you a seat at wine tastings, or knock on your door with an extra slice of homemade bread—just because they thought of you.
What’s the atmosphere like?
The atmosphere at Park Lane is warm, welcoming, and easy to step into. Neighbors gather for coffee, swap books, plan concert outings, and start conversations that turn into real friendships. It’s social without ever feeling forced—and new faces are genuinely welcomed in. There’s even a resident-led welcome committee that makes sure no one has to wonder where to sit at dinner or how to join in. As one team member said, “It’s not cliquey. It really does feel like a family.”
And when you want quiet? That’s easy too. Many residents appreciate being able to retreat to the privacy of their cozy apartment—reading, resting, or simply enjoying some time to themselves—then stepping back into the community when they’re ready for company.
What if I think I’m too young for this?
We hear this all the time—especially from the people who end up loving it most. Many of our neighbors are in their 60s and 70s, still working, volunteering, traveling, and living full lives. Park Lane isn’t about slowing down—it’s about letting go of the things that no longer serve you, like housework or too many quiet evenings, and making space for connection, spontaneity, and ease. As one community member put it, “I thought I was too young for this. I just wish I’d done it sooner.”
What makes Park Lane different from other 55+ options?
A few things stand out. First, the location—nestled just outside the Avenues with sweeping views of the mountains and city lights, we’re minutes from downtown, the arts district, and major healthcare providers. Then, there’s our stunning 80-foot atrium, filled with palm trees and natural light, which creates a truly unique sense of space. And finally, there’s the culture: a community of curious, kind, engaged people who genuinely enjoy one another. It’s the kind of place where you walk in and feel it.
Can I personalize my apartment?
Absolutely. Each apartment comes with a full kitchen, private balcony (facing either the atrium or exterior), and generous storage. You’re welcome to bring your own furniture, artwork, and favorite pieces to make it feel like home. We want your space to reflect you.
What is the social life like?
It’s busy—in the best way. Park Lane hosts 40–50 activities each week, from yoga and art lectures to symphony outings, dueling pianos, and seasonal events, like our Enchanted Forest celebration (stilt walkers and fairies included). Many neighbors also organize their own get-togethers, from current events discussions to group museum trips. One new neighbor joined the community unsure of what to expect—within a month, she was singing with the Melody Makers and hosting happy hours on her balcony. If you want to stay active and engaged, there’s no shortage of ways to do it here.
The care is full circle here.
The Stellar Living Foundation was created to make generosity a shared experience. Community members, team members, community partners, leadership, and owners all contribute to the circle of care. Whether it’s supporting a staff member through a crisis, helping a community member's grandchild go to college, or giving back to local organizations, the Foundation is how we lift each other up.
Hi there! I’m Jacqui, and if you’re considering Park Lane, there’s a good chance we’ll get to meet.
Most of the folks I meet aren’t looking for care—they’re looking for connection, ease, and a fresh chapter that still feels like them. If that’s where you are, I’d love to learn more about your story and help you see if Park Lane is the right fit. No pressure—just a conversation.
