  • Temple Square is perhaps Salt Lake City’s most famous landmark. This 10-acre area has beautiful landscaping and numerous buildings with unique architecture and history. Some of the buildings contain museums and art, and free tours are available. Temple Square is a great place to visit in all seasons, because of the unique plants and flowers year-round, including an amazing light display during the Christmas season. And, it’s only a mile from Park Lane, so an easy 20-minute walk. 
  • You’ll find Brigham Young Historic Park near Temple Square, also just one mile away from Park Lane. It’s a beautiful place to visit and take a stroll. Informational placards about Brigham Young, the property’s original owner, are located around the park. There are also sculptures and water features that add to the beauty and ambiance.
  • The Utah State Capitol Building is just over a mile and a half from Park Lane, and it’s a great place to learn more about the history of Utah and Salt Lake City. The Capitol building itself is a remarkable feat of architecture, and rotating art and historical exhibits add more education and context about this historic area. The tree-lined walk around the Capitol Grounds features Yoshino cherry trees, which create a beautiful display of cherry blossoms every year in late March or early April.   
  • The nearby Gallivan Center hosts low-cost or free public concerts and events year-round. This pedestrian-only urban plaza also has a public ice rink, fun for younger folks who may be here to visit! Food trucks arrive weekly for a fun lunch option, and there is a variety of sculptural art on display around the center.

Capital Grille in Salt Lake City

  • For great brunch in an industrial-style building, try Cafe Niche! Reservations are recommended, and parking is limited, but that won’t be a problem for you, since it’s only a 10-minute walk from Park Lane.
  • Oasis Cafe is just a few blocks from Park Lane, and it’s a super cute place for brunch, lunch, or dinner. The patio is a beautiful place to hang out on a warm day. Reservations are available, and may be a good idea if you visit at peak times.
