What are the U.S. News & World Report’s Best Senior Living ratings?
U.S. News & World Report is a well-respected provider of unbiased, consumer-driven health care rankings and consumer advice. The 2026 U.S. News Ratings for senior living communities were based on a national survey of over 500,000 current senior living community residents and their families. Through these surveys, U.S. News & World Report assessed more than 3,000 senior living communities. The surveys asked residents and their families to rate their communities based on things like:
- Dining and activities,
- Management and staff responsiveness,
- Overall value and social engagement, and
- Safety and caregiving.
Only the highest-rated communities receive a “Best” rating. The “Best Senior Living” ratings also include additional awards for communities that received outstanding ratings in particular areas, like Caregiving, Food & Dining, Activities & Enrichment, and ‘Feels Like Home.’
Stellar Senior Living communities were rated U.S. News & World Report Best Senior Living Communities based on hundreds of thousands of real people’s opinions, making them some of the top senior living communities in the country. This type of award can only be earned through unbiased feedback from senior living residents and their families.
